The University of Arizona (UA) alumni dinner gathering was held recently at the Sheraton Hotel Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and was attended by UA faculty members Michael Proctor, Hassan Hijazi, Iman Hakim, Michael D. Katz, Suzanne K. Panferov, and Joanne Lagasse-Long. Coinciding with The University of Arizona faculty visit, Dr Turki Faisal Al Rasheed, an Adjunct Professor at the UA, who lives in Riyadh, hosted a ‘welcome’ dinner party at his residence for The University of Arizona faculty and alumni.

During this welcome party, Mr Hassan Hijazi and Mr Michael Procter made a brief introduction and speech urging The University of Arizona Alumni Saudi Arabia to get together at least once a year and form a representative committee.

Members of the Saudi Alumni who attended included Mohamed Noor Fatani, Salman Al Sudairy, Abdulrahman Al Jazzar, Rashid Faisal Al Rasheed, Faysal Mohamed Al Rasheed, Abdullah Mohamed Al Rasheed, Hassan Farrash, Jaber Mohamed Al-Shehri, Tarek Almusallam and other alumni.

During the dinner party Abdulrahman Al Jazzar, was nominated as the coordinator for the Alumni in Saudi Arabia

At the end of the evening, guests declared that the party had been a complete success and agreed that they would have to meet up more often.’
